Batter Up!

Description

"Ya ain't so tough now, are ya?"

I smirked, using my new telekinetic power to levitate not one, not two, not even three but five of my bats in the air behind me. The BLUs had mixed expressions of confusion, wonder and even fear. However, our Engineer and Sniper were slapping their palms to their foreheads. "Son... just... no."

Random idea. Sprouted from random leetle game friends(*cough* ONE) and I were playing. Apparently, Scout wanted to learn magic after seeing it... so I was like, "What if he learned telekinetic magic?" And this appeared(after about three days, of course).

Originally a sketch, drawn in my sketch book(around 8" by 11", default paper size) with 3H pencil. (I LOVE harder sketching pencils. I'm not a big fan of the softer ones... I use them for shading. I don't really like the smudging.)

I then scanned it in, drew over the lines to make a line art, made a LOT of layers... coloured it in... did some smancy dancy Photoshop effects... and yeah. Made it in Photoshop Elements using a Wacom Tablet, in case you were curious. It took me... around three days or so to do, and probably around fifteen hours? Seems about right.

Personally, my favourite parts would have to be Scout(pfffft no surprise there, eh?) and the Sun On A Stick. Originally, I wanted to put all of the bats in the picture, but realised that wouldn't quite fit. Also, I played around with Scout's expressions(drawing all of those expression sheets turned out to be rather helpful!). The Sun On A Stick was quite entertaining to colour. You know, I mixed the colours around, used the swirly brush tool and the smudge one... looked pretty cool. And I did the highlights to make it seem all fiery, like in the promotional picture - [link]

Of course, knowing how the TF2 fandom can be a rather tough crowd to please at times... sorry if I have drawn something incorrectly. I have limited experience with drawing these... particular bats. Also, I'm not trained to differentiate the difference between correct number of stripes on candy canes, if that bugs you. Or anything else.

Actually, I am rather pleased to say I only used references for the bats, as I usually draw Scout with the default Bat or the Candy Cane. It think the weapons came out quite well. Of course, my opinion again. The Atomizer proved a little challenging to me. Does anyone feel the same way?

ALSO, sparkles. From the telekinesis. I was basing the power 'bubbles'(if you wish) off of the ones from the unicorns, alicorns and Discord from My Little Pony. I'm a real big fan of the show. I'm more of a pegasus fan than a unicorn... however, telekinesis is pretty sweet. My ponysona is kind of an alicorn... but only for telekinesis. My talent only needs telekinesis. Pfft. Anyhoo, don't kill me for being a brony/pegasister. That is not the idea behind this picture. Also, before you Pony Fortress fans start nagging me, I know Scout would be a pegasus, not a unicorn. This is just a little joke.

...

Do you guys think I overdid the sparkles? I was NOT trying to make him Edward... (I don't even like Twilight...) But that brush tool is addicting...

Finally(Sorry for rambling, pals), I think I did good on the eyes. Right?

Wow, I feel like I'm talking to myself, mates. Do YOU have anything to say(that is NOT hate, like usual)?

What sparkles? Looks more like blood spatter to me? (Or is that just me.... =.=) Which is cool, by the way. :)

Also... Never. Just... This is too dangerous... (But can I have the candy cane? :D)
